David F. LaMay, CFP® CPWA®

Dave’s career began in 1991 as a Financial Consultant with Merrill Lynch. He also worked with Shawmut Investment Advisors and Aetna Financial Services where, in addition to his role as Sales Manager and FINRA Supervisor, Dave served on Aetna’s Management Advisory Council. Prior to joining Essex Financial Services in 2010, Dave spent over 10 years with Fidelity Investments, 7 of which as Vice President and Senior Account Executive with Fidelity’s Private Client Group.

Dave earned a BS in Financial Management from Franklin Pierce University and an M.B.A. from The University of Connecticut. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Certified Private Wealth Advisor®. He holds the Series 7, 9/10, 24, 63 and 65 securities registrations, and the State of Connecticut Life Insurance and Variable Contracts licenses.

Active in his community, Dave is a member of the Middlesex Hospital Philanthropy Advisory Council. He serves as Chairman of the Old Saybrook Board of Finance and is an active member of the Old Saybrook Fire Department. A graduate of Xavier High School in Middletown, Dave served 6 years on the Xavier High School Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Dave is a part time Adjunct Instructor at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven and previously served, part time, as a Personal Financial Counselor with MHN Government Services, where he provided Service Members, including National Guard and Reserve Components and their families with professional, individualized financial planning and consultation services.

Dave specializes in investment management, financial planning, and long term care planning for individual, not-for-profit and corporate clients.
